Mammoth Lakes

That’s a bear…see below for story
We recently had a family reunion in Mammoth Lakes, CA. If you ever get a chance go visit this beautiful place. It was so fun with my mother-in-law’s fam and getting to know them better. We had a wonderful time fishing, swimming, just hanging out. Can’t wait for next year!

The bear story: we were fishing at Twin Lakes (I think). Chris and his dad had just walked down the lake a little ways and saw some animal droppings. They were certain it was a bigger animal then a bear. Not even 20 minutes later, Chris looked over in that direction and there was a big brown bear!! Kids started screaming, we started scrambling to get the kids up the hill. Me, being my mother’s daughter, in all the hustle and bustle tried to get the best shot of the bear I could. But The Bear didn’t do anything or come any closer. He, or she, just looked up at us like “Are these people serious” and turned around and waddled away. We got in the car and drove around the lake but The Bear was already gone. Closet encounter with a bear ever. Hopefully it’s the last.

haha!! Love the part of "being my mother's daughter"! Serious! When are you going to be that close to a bear again? Gotta get the pic. :) He was just interested in fishing just like you guys were. Looks like a fun time!
